Enjoying the fighting...

I seem to find lately that our children are fighting, a lot! They fight over who was playing with the toy first, they fight over which movie to watch, they fight over who gets their hair washed first, they fight over which one of us gets to put them to bed, they fight over Everything, and I must say that i'm enjoying watching them fight. I know that sounds so strange, even in my head it sounds strange, but it's interesting, exciting, and just plain adorable for me to watch them fight.
I think I just enjoy seeing them interact. When Emma was first born, Miller completely ignored her, COMPLETELY! She was not even worthy of his time or much less his attention. As she got older and more specifically mobile he began to, I'm sure out of necessity, recognize that she was around, she was moving, and she was now able to play with his toys and crawl towards his Mommie. He kind of lived in peace with her for the most part, as long as she didn't mess with his stuff, he didn't really mind having her around. Then a few months ago they began to play together. This was the most adorable sight I had ever seen, my babies were playing together. Well recently we've added fighting to the playing. They will play for a little bit then it turns to fighting. I'm not quite sure what to do about it and honestly I'm enjoying seeing them "fight." They are really expressing themselves to each other, not in a physical way - most of the time ;) But in a learning way. They are learning how to live in the same house, play with the same toys, have the same parents, and enjoy playing with each other. It's really showing me how mature they are becoming by how they are able to work out the differences on their own. Now, occasionally I do have to break them up.. we can't have much physical fighting. But, most of them time, I just set back and watch and it amazes me how they are able to work it out on their own. They don't need my help and honestly I'm not sure how to help. I am an only child and the closest thing I can come to understanding what they are going through is my dorm room days at Appalachian. I know it's not the same, but it was difficult to learn to live with someone in a very small space, share the same household items, and always get along. We had our ups and downs and learned valuable lessons for the future of how to get along and I guess that's what the kids are doing too. They are learning lessons that they will use all their life, how to work out differences in opinion in a loving manner... or at least that's what we're attempting to do.

So for now, as crazy as it sounds, I'm enjoying watching my sweet babies "fight" and watching as they learn some hopefully valuable lessons for the future.

It's a Jammies kind of day....

Today has been a PJ kind of day...

Very rarely do we have days that we have nothing to do and no plans. Well today was one of those days. We had a late night last night, Miller had a ballgame, then we had dinner and playtime at our house with the Boyles family. Miller & Emma played and played and really missed their friends the last few weeks since we've been gone. So it was at least 10pm before the kids got into bed. Because we got into bed so late, we all slept in today. Em and I slept until 10am this morning- 10am! I actually woke up saw the clock, jumped out of bed, and ran to the cameras to make sure she was ok- haha! We haven't slept until 10am in forever!

Well when we finally got up we laid around on the couch for a while and then fixed Miller's favorite Cinnamon Rolls for Breakfast. We all sat at the table eating our cinnamon rolls trying to figure out something to do today. We, for once on a Saturday, had no plans. Saturdays are usually so busy around our house, but not today. Wes and I talked about several things to do today, some with the kids, some with just the two of us, and nothing really seemed to fit. We actually had a day with nothing to do.... so we decided that's just what we would do- nothing!

After Breakfast we all went out to the playroom and played. We put back together Miller's Train set table, we played dolls with Emma, we looked for "lost" toys. We had fun- lots of fun. We played and played until Wes looked up and it was 1pm! We were still in our Pajamas, had not done lunch, and it was getting towards nap time!

We decided to fix lunch and have a Carpet Picnic and watch a movie. Carpet Picnics are some of our favorite things to do on a rainy day like today. We spread out a blanket, make sandwiches, and have a fun picnic on the floor! Today we decided to add in a movie for the kiddos. The Easter bunny brought Emma the Tangled DVD and we have yet to watch it all. So I made lunch and Wes started the movie. We all sat in the floor in our PJ's, ate our lunch, and watched Tangled. Such a fun way to spend our Saturday- doing nothing- but having so much fun with our babies!!

Disney World.... "It's Where we're going"

We finally made it home from Disney World!

We have been wanting to take the kids to Disney World for months, years, or since Miller was born. We finally saved up the money, conned my lovely parents into going with us, decided that Emma was old enough, Miller was the perfect age, and the rest is history!

We told Miller WAY too early for a 3 year old's attention span. For weeks every morning the first words out of my sweet boys mouth were... "Are we going to Disney World today?" All he really understood was that we were going to Mickey's house in Flordia and the biggest thing he knew was that we were going to see the big castle! Every time a Disney Movie came on we heard... "That's Disney World... it's where we're going"

We had an amazing trip! The babies were unbelievable on the ROAD TRIP there and back! They watched movies, read books, played games, and only stopped to go to the bathroom a few times! We made record time getting there and home and I couldn't be more proud of them!

We stayed on Disney Property at the All Star Music Resort with a family suite which is awesome! The room was a hotel room, but had plenty of space for us all! We had a room right outside of the pool which was wonderful! The kids loved the Guitar Shaped pool and all the amenities of the hotel!

The Parks were a little crowded but it was a great week! The weather was beautiful and we didn't really have to wait long on any rides! Day 1 we went to Hollywood Studios which didn't have a ton for the kids to do, but I wanted them to see the Pixar Pals Parade which was Awesome! The Parade featured all the Disney/Pixar characters from the movies Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Cars, and Up(Emma's Favorite)! It was amazing to see their faces light up when they saw those characters "In real Life." Just amazing! Hollywood Studios also had the Tower of Terror which my little Dare Devil rode 3 times!!! Miller LOVES rides and especially roller coasters! We all rode the Tower of Terror the first time, I was afraid that it would be too scary for him, but he begged to ride it! Boy, was I wrong- he loved it, rode it and then asked to do it again and again!

Day 2.. was the big day! Magic Kindgom here we come! Dressed to impress in the matching shirts and of course the Mickey ears! The Magic Kingdom was just- that magical! The kids had a wonderful time! We rode all kinds of rides. The Small world, the Railroad, Dumbo.. you name it, if Miller could ride it- he did!! We also met Mickey & Minnie and all the princesses!

Miller on Thunder Mountain Railroad!!!

We met Mickey & Minnie!
Day 3.. We went to Animal Kingdom. Not my favorite park, it was hot and kinda smelly! But we did have a great time at the Donald's Safari breakfast! We got to meet Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Mickey & Minnie! We loved this and the kids were amazed that Goofy was coming to eat breakfast with them! We also went on a Safari here which we all enjoyed.

Day 4&5.. We split up Epcot & Pool time. As I said the kids loved the guitar pool with all the fountains and things! And by day 3 I figured we needed some down time and a little relaxation by the pool. We had a fun morning at Epcot and lunch at the Under the Sea restaurant with Nemo which the kids loved. Eating with fish all around was so interesting for them! We also went to Downtown Disney and ate lunch at the T-Rex cafe. Miller loved it soo much! It was a huge restaurant with dozens of animontronic(sp) dinosaurs that Mills just knew were real.. and really looked like it!

We had the most amazing trip and I have so many memories of my sweet babies! They were so adorable meeting Minnie & Mickey and all the characters! I am so happy that we were able to take Miller at this age, it was unbelievable how much he enjoyed it and how real everything was. He just knew that was the real Mickey & Goofy- because we were at their house! I couldn't have asked for a better trip with my babies. I will never forget the great memories and special times we had.

I also thank my parents for going with us on this adventure! Without them it would have been impossible for Wes & I to enjoy everything with each child that we wanted to. They were truly a blessing to have with us and I'm pretty sure they came back with some wonderful memories also!
